Current Honoree

DAVID DOTY, KINNELON HIGH SCHOOL
2023-2024 Administrator of the Year

David Doty has been an educator for the past 25 years, starting as a high school history teacher and wrestling coach and eventually becoming an Assistant Principal, managing both athletics and student activities at Kinnelon High School. He is always thinking about how to improve student experiences in athletics and activities.  He allows students to walk into his office whenever they need in order to give feedback or input on events, and he embraces the inclusion of all types of students by working to create more clubs and activities each year.

David is no stranger to student leadership and NJASC. As a student at Boonton High School, he was actively involved in Student Council and NJASC, first as a delegate to the NJASC Leadership Training Conference (LTC) and then elected to serve as NJASC State President in 1985. After graduating from high school David continued his involvement with LTC, serving as a Junior Counselor and then Senior Counselor for many years. Even after his individual involvement with NJASC ended, his family involvement continued - he is the father of 2023 NJASC State President Jordan Doty.

We congratulate David Doty and the Kinnelon High School community on this award. It is clear to see that the school spirit, positive climate and student achievement at Kinnelon High School is a direct and tangible result of the guidance, support, and encouragement of their Assistant Principal and Athletic Director!
